The first scene has Taggart biting Rihko in a fit of rage, and this second one is the curse hitting her, body and soul being attacked as the curse swallows her faith in Inari. She is consumed by it, the madness of the hunger digging deep and clawing until she either dies to it or takes it as her own.

I think the emotions of this sequence hit really hard on your heart and you can feel the characters. This is why TeknicolorTiger is freaking amazing.
