At the time I drew this, my friend Michael was having a tough time. One of his favorite pokemon is Absol, and at the time my pokesona was a shiny Houndoom (since changed to a shiny Flygon... I like blue okay). I wanted to draw him something to cheer him up, so this came out of it.
