Crux started when they were suddenly wrapped in a set of slim arms.

“Cruxy~!”

Crux relaxed at that, they recognized that voice, they knew who was clinging to them, though the tone of it did concern them a tab, they’d never even seen Pirouette drink before.

“Crux! Crux! Crux!”

“Hello, beautiful.”

Crux laughed, turning in Pirouette’s arms and glancing at him, putting a hand to his face and rubbing their thumb against his reddened cheek. “what’s gotten into you, little angel?”

Pirouette grumbled and brushed Crux’s hand off, taking a moment to steady his hands upon Crux’s frame. “Need you to fuck me,” Pirouette fisted Crux’s outfit and pulled them closer, seemingly not feeling Crux freeze up in his arms. “that’s all I’m good for, after all. and I apparently don’t give it up.”

Crux’s eyes widened, their face falling into a glare at Pirouette’s defeated look. “Who told you that?” they near growled, wriggling in Pirouette’s arms to look around at the ballroom, their eyes scanning frantically. “Tell me who! who dare-!”

Pirouette slumped further into Crux’s form, wrapping his arms tightly around their midsection. “Crux,” he whispered in their ear, nibbling on the flesh of their neck and licking the shell of their ear, delighting in the way Crux shivered, but Crux managed to push him away, keeping him at arm's length.

“You’re drunk, Piro.” Crux said, shaking their head. “let’s get some water in you.”

“Let’s get your dick in me.” Pirouette purred, though his baby blue eyes filled with tears, and he gasped, letting Crux steer him over to an unoccupied corner of the ballroom, sending Muriel a shake of their head at a concerned glance from the large man. “Why?” Pirouette said shakily, curling in on himself when Crux sat him down on a bench. “What did I do?”

Valerius got drunk and made a pass at Pirouette, he didn't intend to, just completely forgot they weren't together anymore, and because public event Pirouette's parents cornered him, ripped him down, and called him a whole hoard of slurs, mostly things like whore, and why can you just go sleep with who we told you to?! an upset Pirouette had a shaky drink, not a lot, but too many for his tiny self, and he was way overwhelmed from all the people and emotions around
Pirouette's parents also may have tried to shove him on someone creepy and gross just then, someone who tried to do more than just kiss him because they think they and Pirouette are dating

Valerius feels terrible because he's been trying so, so hard to give Pirouette space, and he just accidentally tried to kiss him, was drunk off his ass because upset that Pirouette doesn't seem to know who he is or is punishing him by ignoring him and pretending to not know him, thus Valerius chugged and ended up just coming onto Pirouette, not okay but still Valerius is very sorry and is horrified at his actions, and will send Pirouette elaborate things to make up for it, at least he would if the whole Muriel storyline wasn't going on, and Pirouette runs away to the resistance camp and then Valerius just breaks when he sees Pirouette again and asks him to marry him instead of apologizing

Pirouette's parents, on the other hand, just bad people, and don't think they did anything wrong
