Doodle-A realization

“Asra! Asra!”

Asra perked up when he heard Rinina’s voice, the magician quickly lifting his head to greet the other, who was currently bounding up to him.

“Good morning, Nija,”

Asra said, smiling widely. “care for a reading?”

Rinina thought for a moment, before tilting their head with a shrug. “why not? didn’t you get some new cards recently?” Rinina brushed their braid behind their shoulders, which had come out of place from their running.

Asra nodded and pulled out his cards, shuffling them with a practiced hand, his eyes staying on the other in front of him, a gentle smile lighting his face unknowingly.

Suddenly Rinina’s golden eyes lit up with remembrance. “oh! Primrose’s aunt is home! and Primrose said we could both take tea with them at lunch if we want! I have to go home, I’m going to pick some fruit and bring it back to mom, but you’re invited!” they said, swinging their hips as they spoke, a nonchalant expression of disappointment.

“don’t worry, I’ll save you some cookies.” Asra said, taking delight in the way Rinina’s eyes gleamed with excitement when he spoke, his hands placing out the cards from his deck, letting Rinina gently lift a few so they could look at them, Asra’s hands tightening on the table cloth

“I love you, Asra! you know that, right?” Rinina bounced as they spoke, looking at the cards they held.

“Yeah,” Asra said, his voice faltering slightly as he nearly said the words “I love you too,” and he blinked for a moment as he realized it was true, oh Arcana, he loved them.

That time a realization just happened, it just came on naturally, he loves them
