Kaja bit her nails, worrying at the skin until it was reddened, up until Tetsutetsu grabbed ahold of her hands.

“Hey! calm down, why don’t ya’? you’re gonna hurt yourself.”

Kendo twisted to look at the two others behind her and nodded.

“C’mon you two, we need to get out of here.” Kendo said, tilting her head. but the three of them froze when they heard movement in the brush, Tetsutetsu quickly offering a metallic arm for Kaja to hold onto and copy.

“Hello?”

Kaja suddenly yanked herself away from the boy with a squeal at the voice. “Hi-chan!” she yelped, tackling the person coming out of the brush. “Hi-chan! Hi-chan! Hitsune!”

Hitsune caught Kaja in their arms and let Kaja bury herself into their side.

“Are you okay?”

Hitsune quickly asked. their eyes wide as they assessed their best friend’s physical state. they brushed dirt off of her jacket and patted her shoulders, looking for injuries. “did anyone hurt you?”

Kaja quickly shook her head, but she still cuddled up close to Hitsune, near hiding herself in the fur at Hitsune’s neck.
