Via may or may not have been really depressed without Beel, and stopped spending time on their appearance, especially things like dyeing their hair and keeping all their clothes neatly organized, AKA: they don't normally wear so much color, but they just threw some things together (it's really a miracle that it's all cherry themed) and they forgot their jacket
AKA-AKA: Via didn't like being sent home after the exchange program ended, they're kinda depressed af

Beel came to get them and it's just like "...what happened to you while I was gone?"
Via didn't bother getting their specific shampoo and such, they just grab whatever, that's why they smell so different, so while candy is still their scent, it's now smothered by a bunch of just cheap shampoo smell

(there's also the fact Via is separated from anyone actually willing to deal with them, they miss Ren, they miss Mammon, they miss people who actually like them)
