"You were right, Tom.”

Penelope mouthed as she looked up at the hellish starry night sky. “it does look like back home...”

The chameleon demon curled her fingers against Tom’s arm, laying her head on his shoulder, her lightless green eyes bright, her skin fading between a few faded hues as her emotions swirled.

“Pen...”

Tom spoke after awhile, waiting until Penelope’s colors had settled and her eyes looked up at him, a soft questioning sound leaving her lips. “Penelope, I did bring you out here to see the sky, but also...I have to be honest, I brought you also for something else...something special...”

“Are you leaving me?” Penelope asked immediately, her eyes wide with fright, and she left Tom’s side, leaving the masked demon with a cold spot on his side where she just was. “you’re going to leave me here! alone! just like Vaggie!” Penelope began to speak hysterically, her eyes flicking everywhere but at Tom, tears jumping to her eyes as she shrunk in on herself.

“Wha-? No! no, no, no!” Tom assured, coming close and putting a hand on Penelope’s shoulder. “Pen, I love you! I would never leave you, not like that bitch!” Tom grabbed Penelope’s shoulders more firmly when the chameleon looked at him finally. “come here.” Tom pulled Penelope back into his arms, kissing the top of Penelope’s head the best he could with his gas mask.

“I actually had to ask you something very important,” Tom moved away from Penelope, reaching into his pocket and pulling out a box, getting down on a knee, smiling as best he could when Penelope gasped, her tears renewing, overflowing and spilling out of her eyes as she brought her hands up to cover her mouth.

“T-Tom?” Penelope asked, her voice wobbly with tears.

“Penelope, I love you, more than I thought I could love anyone, especially when I ended up in hell. I always thought hell would be endless torture, but I’ve realized it doesn’t all have to be torture...I’ve found that hell can actually feel a bit like heaven, as long as you are in it with me...Penelope, will you marry me?”

I really like this for some reason, half a vent from me being too hot whilst the power was out and there was a thunderstorm, and half just because I thought it was cute, and I was right, it is cute

Tom has been planning to propose to her for so long, you have no idea, to the point everyone knows and was just waiting for him to do it
Penelope is the sunlight of his life, one of the only good things he has, and everything else good he has is because of Penelope, they live at the Happy Hotel together, Tom has joy in his work because Penelope will insult Katie, and Penelope actually cares about what happens to him and will defend him, etc. etc. etc.

Hazbin only has one episode right now, and Tom is only in half of it, and I'm already way too attached to Tom tbh
Alastor, Husk, Cherri, and Tom are my favorite characters, oops, only Alastor and Husk were my favorite characters at first, but somehow I just made my own things about Cherri and Tom and they both somehow became some of my favorites
