Kaitlin waved as Varian pulled himself up onto the railing beside them. giggling when Varian shot them a glare when he at first struggled to pull himself up.

“Sorry.” Kaitlin said, clicking their tongue and moving over to cradle Varian’s face in between their hands when he pouted. “You’re just so cute when you’re trying to be big.”

“Kitty!”

Varian pushed Kaitlin’s hands away, his face flaming. “I think you’re cute!” the alchemist shot back without thinking, which caused Kaitlin to giggle again, their own face red, but Varian didn’t seem to notice.

“Hey! don’t laugh!” Varian said, pushing Kaitlin away from him.

“Sorry, sorry.” Kaitlin said as they wiped a tear away from their bright purple eyes. “That’s just a bold faced lie, Var.”
