Traditional Armor (FWA 2014)

Coon

In opposition to the fitted armor she usually wears ( https://www.weasyl.com/submission/964393/sylvannah-s-fitted-armor ) , here is Sylvannah wearing full plate mail in the traditional style. It offers the maximum amount of medieval protection, but at the cost of mobility, agility, and comfort. This segmented armor is made piecemeal; while not quite mass-produced, it is made so that anyone can wear it, with different body types and sizes needing only to make some minor adjustment and swapping out some parts. As you can see, this utility makes it harder to determine her gender when she's fitted out in armor like this; she can easily pass as a male.

The smooth, curved surface of the armor is most effective at turning away blows from other swordsmen/women. It offers some protection from arrows, but the plate is actually quite thin in many places, and won't prevent penetration completely. Projectiles with higher kinetic force behind them rendered these armors obsolete; crossbow bolts and balls of shot will punch through armor and wearer alike. Also, blunt weapons are not effectively stopped by these armors; but there is little that can stop a war hammer with enough force behind its swing.
