Spirited by cinnamare

Spirited

I wanted you to love me,

And the best I tried to be,

Yet even though I tried,

Your whips still stung me,

In the end I gave up trying to love,

But rather to be free.

Now I smile down on you,

For now I am free,

I am nowhere your eye can see

It was your abuse that set me free,

You never won,

Even though you thought you had,

I am no longer under that tree.

I am galloping the green meadows,

Freedom

Spirited
