Drawn right after the previous image, still at the Thinking Cup. While I was working on that other image, I saw this couple across from me. They were clearly on a date, thirty-something, and showing obvious body language with all the first-date-first-impression jitters on display.

He didn't know what to do with his hands: kept tucking them under his arms, or between his crossed legs or awkwardly playing with his knuckles. And she was leaned so far forward and agreeably engaged in everything he was saying, that she seemed ready to fall off her seat. They were too far away and it was too noisy for me to really know what they were saying, but she must have exclaimed, "Oh, me too." at least a dozen times.

The obvious stakes for each of them - the human drama of it - was very charming to me. People nervously risking and fumbling for connection are heroic and adorable.
