Chandra, with her infinite pool of optimism and heart, wanted to do something to help Ajani and Nissa feel better. The purification from compleation took immense sacrifice - which still didn't erase the sheer despair and horror the two inflicted while under Phyrexia's control. It would be a tough time for both of them to acclimate, reconcile, and forgive themselves. Chandra knew that Nissa could feel the thrum of the leylines of the worlds she had directed the Realmbreaker to destroy; and it didn't take a genius to know that a healer like Ajani would never forgive himself for the many lives he had taken.

So the pyromancer did the best thing she can think of for two people stuck in bed on the mend. Sure it's not the best cake - making something like that took patience Chandra just didn't have. But the look of surprise on Ajani's face as she thrust the cake forward was worth the thought, and the smile and laugh that escaped Nissa's lips was worth the effort.

I said on twitter that I wanted this Phyrexian plotline to end so I knew whether I was making a funeral shrine for Ajani, or a get well soon cake, based on whether WotC decided that compleating Ajani was a death sentence or not. Last week, I realized that I didn't need Nissa in the same boat.

I am happy to announce I got to make the Gruulfriends and my husbando a cake.
