"Broken Arrow"

I am intrigued by your silence, straight shooter.

I see you sometimes by yourself, looking inot the distance, and I wonder why. I wonder what you are thinking about that makes you so sad, are you remembering Rial; or is it someting else?

You should be happy. You have a mate that loves you and strong, healthy kits or your own, and yet I see you like this and worry that there is something you're not telling me. Something that you're worried I won't understand.

Everytime I ask you about it you say "It's nothing" or "Don't worry about it", then pretend like nothing's wrong. I've talked with Liska and Panka, and they've noticed it as well.

I'm starting to think that 'Broken Arrow' was describing more than just your weapon, Pyndan.

You've always been a good friend to me, and have always been able to make me smile, so why can't you smile more? Life is too short to waste on regrets and sadness, my friend. Instead of concentrating on the hurts of the past, you need to look at what you have now.

You may not know what you'll face in the future, broken arrow, but you know who you'll be facing it with.

Your friend,

Hessta

Chakat Stripedfur

This is the first in a series of three poems in letter format that I wrote for Katmandu, but this is the only one that got published. Issue 33 page 19 if you're interested (/shameless self promotion). ~coughs~ *Any*way, I hope you like it.
