"Another Lonely Night"
By Kit Pawson
It's been a month since you left me.
I still remember it as though it were yesterday.
You were crying as I recall, the tears leaving silver streaks down your face.
I was pleading with you to stay, saying we could still work it out.
That I still loved you and love was all we really needed.
But you thought we needed more.
More than we had.
More than I was able to give.
Instead, you found it with someone else.
Someone, you said, who loved you more than I did.
Who would always be there for you, instead of putting our life on hold for a business meeting, or a football game.
So you left me, and took with you my reason for living.
I come home to an empty house now.
All the life and color drained by your absence.
Instead of a romantic evening alone, I turn out the lights and cry.
For anybody else, it would be an ordinary saturday evening.
For me, it's just another lonely night.
Yes, I know, another angsty poem. x3 I'm sorry, I'm uploading these in alphabetical order, so the types are mixed up and they're not in the order I wrote them. Frankly I wouldn't know how to order them. I've completely forgotten when I wrote most of these, since most of these were written years ago, and they're all from a furry POV and most of them are angsty, so I wouldn't know where to start.
Anyway, I'll be uploading as many as I can tonight, so I'm apologizing in advance for the poetry flood. ;3
