so I decided to make a batch of these guys especially for shark week!
I'm not exactly sure how these will be received, so this batch is kind of a trial run!

Sha'lai are naturally a predatory species who lure in prey with their elegant dancing and melancholic singing
they live wild in shoals in the oceans, though some have escaped from captivity and formed freshwater shoals too
they are quite intelligent, but highly instinctual and sometimes unpredictable creatures, captive Sha'lai are bred for a more docile nature, so as to be more suitable as pets!

the breeding process often results in various unwanted deformities - these Sha'lai will be relatively poor swimmers and prone to injury due to their thinner skin and lack of muscle

a rarer subtype of Sha'lai referred to as deepsea variants are those which are rejected from a shoal due to having a socially unacceptable or potentially dangerous mutation, often paired with an unusually vicious nature. it is thought by wild living individuals that these Sha'lai were once deliberately bred to fight for the entertainment of land-dwelling species, or are a leftover remnant of an age where Sha'lai were more warlike in nature (the former is true)

Sha'lai fighting and baiting is now illegal, but can still be found if you know the right places to visit

☆ #2 Precious ~ ocean Sha'lai with common pink colouring - has a deformity where the tail fins are totally absent and tail muscles are weak
☆ #3 Diva ~ ocean Sha'lai with uncommon gradient pink colouring - has a deformity resulting in asymmetrical gill stalks. also has a rare larger tail fin (desirable)
☆ #4 Styx ~ deepsea variant with common purple colouring - has an upward pointing third eye with exceptional night vision and rare multi-colored gill stalks
☆ #5 Cee ~ ocean Sha'lei with very rare earthy colouring - has extra elbow gill stalks (desirable)
