I was admiring this on my desktop today when I realized why there's such a strong impression of personality in this picture. The tall one is mostly symmetrical and composed on straight lines, communicating calm and stability. The shorter one features asymmetry and diagonal lines, which is more unstable and dynamic, which I think represents being the more naive and unsure of herself here. Things you don't notice, but your brain does!
