our bodies like snakes entwined in the grass
limbs, sweat, skin, tears,
leaves, twigs, dirt, dew.
the cicadas sing,
the blue jays cry out,
the vultures circle high above us.
blueberry bushes and red spruce rising,
rocks, breath, flowers, bruises.
the noonday sun,
our will be done
upon the earth
as our spirits dance across the heavens.
