All The Way

I can't tell you how much I loved being in Yosemite National Park for a week. The scenery there was absolutely astounding... especially in contrast to the endless flat farmland I'm surrounded by in my day-to-day life. There was no shortage of photography opportunities, which made me quite happy, to say the least.

This was taken near the end of my trek along the Panorama Trail, which is an amazing 8.5 mile hike from Glacier Point to the Valley (or vice-versa). I especially loved the Panorama Trail for the fact that it really takes you out into more of the "wilderness" aspect of Yosemite. For the first 4-5 miles of the trail, I only encountered 4 or 5 people. It was wonderful to have more of a sense of "alone-time" with that beautiful place, away from the growing crowds on the various valley-trails.

However, by the time I reached this spot, there were dozens of people, if not more. "This spot", by-the-way, is part way down the many stone steps alongside this beautiful waterfall known as Vernal Fall. There was so much mist I had to shield my camera from getting soaked on this part of the walk, and even then, I myself came out a bit wet. Regardless of all the people, though, it was still a wonderful sight to see. Do note the two rainbows at the bottom of the fall... yes, there are two. One is slightly more faded, but it's there. So OMG DOUBLE RAINBOW, and all that jazz....
