After 15 years of faithful service providing data on Mars, NASA officially declared the Opportunity rover to be dead. Solar storms and heavy amounts of dust covered her solar panels, and her last message back to Earth read "My battery is low and it's getting dark."

Good night Oppy. Thank you for everything you've done. I'll always remember how exciting it was watching the progress of your construction, launch, and the information you sent back to us.
