A seeder is an old sentient machine, created to terraform and prepare worlds for later colonization, during the Digital Wars one of them attained sentience and made sure it's children would reproduce as well, as a result we now have a highly intelligent race of, quite helpful, machines, tho the prime directive still maintains-to explore and colonize, there aren't many worlds left to do so to, so most are now drifters or adventurers.
