This is a cover of the xx's song "Islands". The guitar, vocals, and mixing (that I'm aware of) were done by Taka, and the bass was provided by yours truly!

I recorded the bass in one take, reading off of sheet music, so please forgive my flubs, tempo changes, etc. I tried to stick to it as best I could, but I'm a bit out of practice. Add to that that I had never played the song before, and I think it ended up pretty well!

Just in case you were wondering, the bass is a Rickenbacker 4003 plugged into a MarkBass Little Mark Tube 800 amp which is plugged into a Creative E-MU 0404 which then fed into Cakewalk Sonar LE. No effects, no digital tweaking, just the amp's EQ.
