These characters are Latranner the fennec-coyote mix and Martaphette the pine marten. They're a couple who are trekking in their automotive cart across the continent in hopes of finding opportunity and a better life outside their home city. Martie wants to be a mechanic and Latranner isn't sure what he wants to do. The way across is full of dangers, known and unknown, that the young city dwellers will have to face before they can reach the other coast.
