Just came across this picture going through my computer. Pretty sure it was my older sister who actually took it 6-7 years ago.

THIS IS NOT A HAPPY STORY. That is a warning. tl;dr: My fursona is based off my dead dog.

This was my dog, Ginger, and she is also the main influence on my fursona. Even down to the red collar with the pink heart tag.

It was a few weeks after my birthday in 9th grade, here in Ga it gets stormy in August, I think I had turned 14? or was it 15?

Either way, I woke up at 3 am, a bad storm making it too loud to sleep, my first instinct was to go check on Ginger because she freaks out during storms. Unfortunately, I was too lazy and figured she would be fine.

As it turned out, my dad had let her out back that night to go to the bathroom, she didn't want to come in so he just left her out there. The strong winds blew open the gate and she was gone in the morning.

The even more unfortunate part is I did find her. In the middle of the road.

That day has pretty much been burned into my memory, I'd had her for nearly 10 years, she was getting old anyways. But you never quite forget seeing your best friend laying in the road dead.
