Female Iksar 3D-model, stage 1 by BerryBubbleBlast

Female Iksar 3D-model, stage 1

BerryBubbleBlast

A model I’ve wanted to make for some time. It’s a female Iksar from the game Everquest 2 which I’m intending on working even further on, with more sculpted details, textures, and later on rigging it for animations.

Although this is a female, I've intentionally decided to keep her figure slim, and obvously breastless as Iksar females don't have breasts. Despite saying this, I'm still learning how to model as well as defining proportions, so if you happen to see anything which looks off, then please do tell. I'd appreciate any feedback you can give.

As I mentioned, I will be working more on this model, though I haven't decided when I do that as I have a lot of different things I wish to work on. However do look forward to more models in the future.

It doesn't look too bad to me. I'm hardly an expert though, so take anything with a grain of salt..
Anyway, I expect you might have to retopo the shoulders a bit when you get to rigging. A piece of advice that was given to me was to do the arms at more of a 45-degree position than a straight T-Pose, because it helps focus on a more natural geometry distribution (the arms are usually down most of the time anyway, so it's good if they look best that way I guess)

I'm also seeing a lot of N-poles and E-poles (verts with 3 or 5 edges). I don't entirely understand why they're bad yet myself(??) but it has something to do with topology. So that might be something to consider in future.

finally it looks like there's a divot on the belly, dunno if that is intentional or not :o

well, good luck with the model!

Hey Noxid, thanks for the feedback!

I'll make sure to take a second look at the shoulders when I continue to work on this model. I've also seen both variants of T-Poses and 45-degree poses, though I never heard any explanation for why one would be better than the other, so thanks for explaining that.

The whole N-poles and E-poles "issue" ... I understand the topology makes the edge flow go in various directions, and I've tried my best to make them flow where I want them to, but I'll try to keep them in mind even more in the future.

Yeah, the belly divot is more or less intentional. It's intended to be a simple attempt to model stomach muscles, though I guess I really didn't put much effort into it.

Thanks again for showing interest Noxid!
