This is a Baphomet doll. Baphomet consists of two greek words «baphe» and «metis», meaning "absorption of knowledge». It’s a depiction of a goat with a womans torso, with feathery wings and human arms. The symbolism of this creature is wide and is often connected with the occult. I made this doll after the commissioners sketches and ideas, and tried to incorporate it as best I could into a doll. This is the commissioners idea of how the baphomet looks, so there are other variations of it.

Three eyes, lower jaw fangs, symbols on the arms, you name it... I had to take several pictures of this fella since it was really hard to capture everything with just a couple of shots. I loved working on this! So many challenges, and I learned a whole lot throughout the process.

The body is made of faux fur and fleece with soft stuffing and pellets for weight. The head, ears, hands and feet are original sculpted parts, the horns are molded plastic. I use acrylic paint for the hard parts and airbrushed the torso. The wings are made of wool felt.

The dreads are made of needle felted wool. The amulet is made of antique bone beads, carved yak ox bone skull beads and a yellow amethyst in the center.

No skeleton inside, this is a soft doll.

One of a kind

This is a commission, and is not for sale.
