"I've had a totally weird morning! Well really, I had weird dreams all night. Like lucid dreams? I think that would be the best way to describe it, because I had a dream where I could totally control myself, and what I said or did. But not like those dreams where you can make yourself fly or have superpowers. (That would have been neat though!)

It was like being awake, except I was dreaming. I don't know if that's lucid dreaming? I've never experienced it before.

So this creature is what I saw in my dream. Well as best as I could remember after waking up. I ran right over to the computer and started drawing first thing. I didn't want to forget the details!

It was climbing on a tree and I tried to coax it down so I could get a better look, but it wasn't listening to me. It seemed pretty curious though because it kept trying to walk around the tree branches to get a better look at me, all while I was walking around on the ground trying to get a better look at it.

I thought it was maybe a lemur at first? Or like a cotton top tamarin which would make sense because I had watched a video about them last night. I thought it had white puff of fur on the top of it's head, but that turned out to be the tips of it's ears. It had huge ears that flopped over at the tips like a dogs.

I realized quickly that it wasn't an animal I knew but that it was it's own thing.

The markings and body shape reminded me of a chipmunk, but it was way too big for that. It actually looked like it was bigger than my cat, and he is about 12 lbs.

The coolest thing though was that it had what looked like a glass ball on it's tail. I didn't get a good look at it, because the creature kept holding it in it's paws to hide it from me. After that the creature seemed like it was done looking at me and hid further up the tree, I couldn't get a good look anymore.

I woke up right after that.

When I sat down and started sketching what my little dream critter looked like, I was trying to figure out what the glass ball might have been and realized that I had just seen a Dorodango on tumblr last night. I'm betting that influenced my dream.

A Dorodango is a ball of mud that you roll and polish very slowly by hand until it eventually turns shiny like pottery.

So that's what I'm going to call this for now, a Dorodango. At least until I can think of a better name for the critter!

Well! As much as I want to keep drawing this critter today, I've got some pixel work to finish and I'm very excited about how it's looking But I'll try and draw it again soon!"
