This is my personal sketchbook, and one of the earliest attempts at stab binding that I attempted.
The covers are thick linen paper over top of mat board. Interior pages are green and white lignin- and acid-free 65 lbs cardstock. Hemp cord was used to bind the edge in the Japanese stab binding style (I took some liberties and made it more decorative, though).
The icon is a stylized bison that I found online and turned into a negative stencil, then sponged on with white paint. I like it, it's very understated but really works well with the green of the cover.

I find the binding just as fascinating as I do the emblem (and that is pretty cool). You gave it a ghostly sort of quality with the sponging, because it lets the white vary in how opaque it is.
