Grim Reaper

BaronFangerus

Continuing my posts of old drawings, here is a drawing I did a few years ago of Grim Reaper. A fallen angel who is seated on a throne surrounded by the skulls of those who are in Hades, its cloak is black as night, its carries a scythe in its hand with which its removes the souls of those who have already fulfilled their time of life on earth, its body is skeletal and there is no flesh, on its throne there are bat wings and some skulls that adorn its royal seat as well as a pentagram.
I made this drawing following some art from an artist called Black Death Sign.

Death personification according to Wikipedia:
"Death is frequently imagined as a personified force. In some mythologies, a character known as the Grim Reaper (usually depicted as a berobed skeleton wielding a scythe) causes the victim's death by coming to collect that person's soul. Other beliefs hold that the Spectre of Death is only a psychopomp, a benevolent figure who serves to gently sever the last ties between the soul and the body, and to guide the deceased to the afterlife, without having any control over when or how the victim dies. Death is most often personified in male form, although in certain cultures Death is perceived as female (for instance, Marzanna in Slavic mythology, or Santa Muerte in Mexico)." - Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_(personification)
