Tribute to my ex-colleague's Golden Eagle, Charlie, who is sadly no longer with us.

I think we all felt the sting. But to him? Charlie was his baby.
Charlie was such a big part of his life and carried him through some terrible times.

I'll never forget seeing Charlie being cradled in his arms...barely alive but fighting until the end.

Rest in peace Charlie boy. It's an honour and a privilege to have worked with you. <3

It has been a really rough month. Have not enjoyed it...they say 'When it rains, it pours', and boy has it ever.

April 2nd, 2015: My Grandmother passed away.
April 10th, 2015: Our two elderly pelicans were both put to sleep.
April 30th, 2015: Lady, our eldest kestrel, passed away in her sleep at the age of 15.
May 1st, 2015: Flora, one of our storks, was killed in a road accident.
May 5th, 2015: My Grandmother's funeral took place.

I hope this month will be better. I want to rise from the ashes like a phoenix.
