Found this today in my comic drawer: My first self-published comic book, "A Witch Named Katrina" from late 2012.

This is a very early and primitive version of my currently-running A Witch Named Koko. Looking at it now, it's pretty rough, with a lot of things I would no longer do.

I was signing my work as "Chuck Akira" at the time, but I dropped it because too many people asked who that person was whenever I showed them my work (Akira is my middle name).

I think I changed "Katrina" to "Koko" because the hurricane was still fresh in everyone's mind at the time. That didn't stop me from reusing the name in The Fuzzy Princess. The princess's name is Katrina, although it's shortened as "Kat" by others.

Note that I still use that Smallbug Press logo; it shows up in Cats and Witches and The Fuzzy Princess. Smallbug is pretty much my brand name of sorts.
