Believe it or not, most immortals end up having to fight a great deal in order to protect their part of the realm. They pretty much fight so the mortal races don't have to. The person immortal originally fought was Bahamut, but after he cooled his temper down and began to act like a proper leader, their attention turned towards the rogue magic users- the witches.
