Silence Is Golden by Azarius Flashfang

Silence Is Golden

Azarius Flashfang

This is a piece I have had stuck in my head for weeks and I have finally drawn it out today. I had played Blasphemous recently and felt so inspired by the Gothic Catholic aesthetic that really stuck out to me considering my upbringing. Told some friends awhile back that I was torn on whether I should aim for more fantasy type subject matter or horror. I then came up with the compromise of dark fantasy or gothic fantasy, this being my first real attempt at such a piece. The gold cracks are inspired by a Japanese artform called Kintsugi where they fix broken objects using a gold lacquer, meant to symbolize that flaws can be beautiful as well. Broke my own rule about using greyscale for this piece for the sake of artistic emphasis and expression.

As always please feel free to leave comments and critiques below, after all feedback is how I will improve my craft in the future.^^
