Do you get it? because it's a gun that fires sound waves, sound is related to hearing, the phrasing is a joke in the sense that the person who could not previously hear is now probably temporarily deaf and flying through the air now along with a plethora of other things, many of which may be on fire, it is a joke because it is a redundant question given the currently transpiring situation.
