My name is Johanna Mason. I was reaped into the 71st Hunger Games. I became the district 7 victor, the axe girl with a heart of steel. I won by cunningly portraying myself as weak and pathetic girl that no one wanted to bother with because I posed no threat. When it was down to a few of us I showed my true colors and slaughtered them all. I needed to win for my family back home. I couldn’t care less about the fame and fortune. My family needed me. With a wicked ability to murder I was crowned the winner.

But with winning does not come immunity. You are not granted immortality just for winning. I learned that the hard way. Snow came to my house one day and proposed an offer; he’d asked me if I wanted to sell my body to the Capitol. I told him he could go kill himself and that I would never stoop so low. Little did I know that he would make me pay. He was angry, furious and he took it out on me in the worst way possible. He always finds a way to take everything you know and love and crush it in the palms of his hands.

My family, my friends, everything I held dear…He killed them all. He brought in Peacekeepers and slaughtered them one by one. He made sure I paid. The Peacekeepers tortured them and I had to deal with the agony of their screams until there was no one left.

My name is Johanna Mason from District 7. The axe girl. The brash, blunt and sarcastic warrior that survived the Hunger Games. The girl who will tell you like it is. The girl who had everything she loved taken from her.

Snow can no longer hurt me. There’s no one left that I love.

Speedpaint done in a little less than three hours! Messy paintings are so much fun~

Johanna Mason is one of my favorite characters; she grew on me so much especially after finding out about her past. <3 ; ; It tugged at my heartstrings. She is so strong. I know that if my entire family and friends were murdered and I had absolutely no one left I wouldn’t be like her. I would be like Katniss would have been if she was left to wilt. I would be a lifeless shell or dead if I had no one left in this world.

It’s why I respect her as a character so much. I love her to pieces. Had to do a picture of her~ The small drabble is a shortened version of my one-shot. I posted it on my blog so you can find it there.
