Sketchdump: Elias the Woolly Alchemist

Avanii

Made in 2012 and 2013 :) We're catching up!

I hope you guys like sketches, because there are a few sketchdumps in the making! It was basically the only artistic thing I did in terms of drawing these past months, so I have a ton of unpublished sketches lying around, and it's kind of a waste. And since I am not going to colour them all, I figured they should just be posted as is. some of these are probably familiar ;) Originally I intended to make this a sketchdump featuring all anthro creatures I drew, but I had so many of Elias I decided to give him his own dump.

So, Elias Alistair Finley, the woolly sheep-rabbit alchemist, in all his glory (or not!). As usual, when I come up with a character I become obsessed with them and draw them all the time. This is no different. There are a few development sketches in these (the little heads with different horns: which one suits best?) Also inconsistency with the number of fingers (four or five?), size of the horns and clothing design. Ah well. The two other sheep-rabbits are his brothers. No set design for them yet (if ever!) I just wanted to play with the combination, and Elias does have siblings, sooo. They are the more physical types, more muscles than brains. They got it from their ram father! Elias however does not have much courage or muscle power, he prefers to read and study instead.

And then the drawing with the three of my main anthro fantasy critters: Maloki the thief, who is an extreme mutt and may have lemur, rabbit, dog and fox ancestors somewhere, but is beyond the normal 'hybrid' standard. William the merchant, specializing in rare, small goods for a nice price (may or may not have been fairly obtained). He's a cross between a red fox (maybe), fennec fox and squirrel. Golden fur with white and dark brown accents and eyes of two different colours. And Elias himself, of course.

Also I'd like to note that the frightened drawing was made right after I got back into my room after the firefighters left (for those who don't know, I suffer from pyrophobia, which is an irrational fear of fire, and as it happens last month my house caught on fire. A small fire, but a fire nonetheless.) and this is how I felt. Literally. It inspired me to draw this extreme expression.
