Mephi is the very first Fixl by number, and one of the five that the Foundation recommends new trainers to start with. Despite being a tiny fuzzy chemical factory, Mephi is docile and easy to train, and well-behaved enough not to light anything on fire it isn’t told to. Mephis are more resilient than they look, too - as offensively low-powered as their mental restraints cause them to be, they’re tanky little things and good at outlasting their opponents.
Mephi are one of the few Fixls to have a three-stage upgrade path; the other two are called Mephire and Mephanero, and they’re not quite so docile.
