A very personal commission I revived last week, and just now finished.
the image is for a good follower of mine, Dorianfen, whos beloved cat passed away. A few year ago, they lost their dog. So they commissioned me to pain a memorial pic for him and his missed family members.
i can only hope i did them justice.

COPIED AND PASTED FROM FA (to give your viewers a background on this piece)

"So as you all know my cat, Mittens, passed away less than a week ago (she was 19 and a half years old). It was the driving force behind this commission. I also lost my dog, Buddy, a few years back due to hip displacia (He was 12). When I contacted Aspen to do this commission as a memorial piece for me, they immediately responded with excitement on doing this piece. Which brings me to the story behind it.

These two (when they were both alive) were two peas in a pod. I got Mittens when I was 7, she was a birthday present from a litter of kittens my grandmothers cat had. From the time she was a kitten until the day she passed away she was very dear to me, and I believe the bond and love we shared was something very special. Much like a parent and child love each other.

The year I turned 11 we moved in with my grandmother while we were looking for a place to live nearby, and that winter we got Buddy. He was left on our doorstep by the mother dog as the mother dog and puppies were being abused and neglected, and when we found him, he was sick and starving due to worms. By the time we got him healthy enough that we could have given him up for adoption... well... we didn't want to. While we had not been looking for a dog, we found one, and quickly grew to love him very much.

    And so did Mittens...

From the moment we brought him into the house out of the cold, to the day we had to have him put down due to the hip displacia, she mothered him. She raised him, slept with him and I in my bed, played with him. I can remember Buddy chasing Mittens to one end of the house, and then her turning right back around to chase him to the other end. We were family. We were love.

I will never forget the love these babies taught me to have, and I will never forget them. They will live in my heart forever."

I would like to give a big thanks to Aspen for doing this for me. You have helped me not only cope with the death of both of these pets, but have brought a smile to my face in the process, even if it is through tears.

    Thank you so much sweetie.
