The angora rabbit dæmon was a feisty thing; so very unlike her human. She would talk back, she would snap, and she would show loathing to those she didn't like. Of course the Duke had to manage her--no need for her to go off on a rant in the presence of the King. He wanted to keep his head, thank you very much.

So whenever she would get in a mood like that, he'd take her to their room and shut the door so they could talk. Of course this always meant that she would get her thick fur brushed, which Sylvia always liked. Still, she wished her human was a bit more brave. He ought to stand up to that fat bastard some day!

A little His Dark Materials/Disney crossover I'm doing. If you haven't read that trilogy, I suggest you do. It's very good. Especially if you like talking animals, armored fighting bears, magic, and parallel worlds.
