The fennekims do not wear much in the sense of armor aside of a chestpiece.
It serves the primary purpose to prevent broken ribs to puncture the lung as well as providing a protection to the spine against injury when falling onto ones back.
The chestpiece is usually made from either lizard-leather or, where the skill is available, from thin steel sheets.
Depending on fighting style, different components like leg guards, sandals or a weighted leather-strap kilt are added.

Where amazones use heavier armor when going into battle or hgh-risk duties such as caravan guard duty, fennekim actually use lighter armor the more dangerous the environment is. For them their agility and speed are their most important and effective tool of offense and defense, whilst for the amazones it's their endurance and heavy armor.

With a bodyweight of about 20kg, a fennekim is simply unable to carry the weight of a plate mail in his size without being slowed down tremenduously.
By comparision, an amazone with her 80 to 140kg weight carries the 40 to 60 kg her plate armor weighs with only a minimal impact upon her agility.
And the impact on her endurance is negligible for the type of vicious short engagement that is typical for a caravan raid.
