"things will get better for you soon - don't lose hope"

saw some folks on the 'net recommending Krita, a program for digital painting, as a better and faster-developed software for basic image editing than GIMP, and though, in some ways, I can't argue with them, the entire situation gave me the idea to draw this.
(Keep in mind that both programs have similar, but different aims, and have their own strengths and weaknesses.)

[this also serves as a reminder that paid drawing programs don't come with a mascot that you can use as a subject when you have nothing else to draw. oh, who am I kidding, my entire gallery is a reminder of that -- or at least it will be, when I fill it up eventually. 🙃]
