This is the kind of thing I do in my spare time.

It's a remote operated vehicle of my own design attached to an old-school reel mower. It's still in the prototype stage, and the plan is to equip it with a mast-mounted wireless video transmitter and camera so I can operate the machine from my living room, seeing what it sees on my television. All the exposed wires will get bundled and cleaned up in the finished product.

The motors are from an electric wheelchair (Pride Jazzy 1113 ATS). Batteries are 12V deep cycle, same type they use on the wheelchair. The motor control board is from Dimension Engineering. Transmitter, sitting foreground for scale, is the Aurora 9 from HiTec.

And yes, it really does a good job on mowing the thick Bermuda-grass we have around here. :)
