My charr mesmer Renzir and done by Owligator from tumblr (http://owligator.tumblr.com/). He ditched the legions years ago in search of his own destiny (and almost forced out of his warband by his mates who were sick of his bad attitude). Perpetually aggressive and lost on land, he found his way onto a busted up pirate ship outside of Lion's Arch and knew that was what he wanted out of life. By working odd jobs and through good ol' fashioned adventuring he was able to repair the ship, although he couldn't find anyone willing to be his crew after years of his reputation of being a curmudgeonly asshole had spread throughout the city.

Since he couldn't find anyone else to man the ship, Renzir sought out a way to man it by himself. He had always been adept with phantasms, but maintaining them in such a way to be able to run a whole ship by himself is beyond all but the highest order of mesmers. In his research he was able to find a way to tie short loops of a particular action to a phantasm bound to a particular signet. With enough of them installed around the ship, he trained himself to be able to activate any of the ship's signets at will.

He's actually a lot more comfortable on the water and despite his past of a short temper and a keen inability to socialize, he's managed to become known as quite the charmer in other ports - at least while on his ship.
