This is a character I have been developing for awhile now.

Szalinski was the lead scientist for the Szalinski Institute of Zeroscal Energy, or S.I.Z.E. for short.
Zeroscale energy is a cosmic power source that was found within crystalline structures on a meteor discovered deep within the Antarctic wastelands. When it is harnessed, concentrated and focused, Zeroscale energy can alter the size of any organic or inorganic material.
Szalinski was trying to collect and recreate this energy, but one experiment went terribly wrong. While collecting a sample of Zeroscale energy, it caused a chain reaction with a generator connected to the storage containment. It caused the energy to be created faster than the device could contain it. The resulting explosion should have killed Szalinski, but the resulting blast irradiated every atom of his body to a sub-atomic level. When he finally regained consciousness, Szalinski had discovered that his body had been altered greatly. He was not only taller and stronger than he had been before the accident, but his body could generate Zeroscale energy at will. He had, in a sense, become a living growth ray. He could shoot out beans of Zeroscale energy and alter the size of himself or anything around him . He can increase or decrease their size as well as alter their strength all depending on how the energy he used was focused. Despite his new abilities, Szalinski could still live a normal life as the energy emitting from his body wouldn’t affect others unless he focused it.
Szalinski still leads experiments studying Zeroscale energy and how best to use his newfound power while trying to adapt to everyday life. He likes to use his power to help those around him. Growing or shrinking himself or others as he sees fit. That doesn’t mean that he doesn’t have a sense of humor about it or dispensing a bit of size altering karma.
