The cub hopped along beside his dam. He was excited to learn to hunt, but yet, he was afraid. He wasn't known for his hunting and fighting skill in the pack, and to the contrary, his dam was a fierce combatant. Dead was certain that he couldn't keep up.

That was before he asked what he did, even.

"What are we going after?" He tipped his head as he looked up to meet her eyes. She didn't look down to him. "Imps?"

"No," She simply replied, a grin spreading across her face.

"Cliffshriek?" His voice turned nervous. Despite how he'd been told that the flying creatures were weak, he still knew they were much larger than him, and could easily fly off with him in their talons. The largest he'd seen could likely swallow him whole.

"No," She said again. They stopped in front of a cave made of fallen stone spires, and something big began to step forward inside, crunching on old leaf litter and debris. He began to scrunch back between his dam's legs, but she lifted him with her greheli, holding him up to her eye level. "Kisa."

The great beast stepped forward, eyeing the pair. Despite his protests - there were many - his dam threw him forward between the legs of the creature and entered a fighting stance herself. The beast barely showed interest in him, but had less interest in having its territory invaded, so while the cub shook, the Kisa let out a groan, bringing up one paw to strike at the boy...
