Balancing the Books

Viridian first met the arctic fox at the venue bar after watching a gig. Following some conversation, they were soon friends. Although they have different personalities from one another, they both shared a similar enthusiasm for their own particular interests. Viridian was thrilled to learn that Robyn had a passion for practicing magic, as she had never had anyone in her circle of friends before who could efficiently use such a talent. These abilities absolutely fascinated the cat and she asked many questions trying to gain a greater knowledge about its possibilities, while her mind began constructing potential experiments and fusions of Robyn's magic with her own science knowhow.

As the weeks passed, Robyn soon got used to Viridian's ever-present fascination with her own magical knowledge. After inviting the feline over to her place to meet up she explained that while it is possible for people to click their fingers or use spells with a thought alone, right now she had to rely on spell-books or other preparation before she could get a desired effect to take place.

Upon hearing this Viridian's eyes opened wide. With a smile growing on her face she looked around the room that they were in, realising that the many tomes that were scattered all about were not just the ordinary books of an avid reader. She quickly began browsing them, excitedly moving from spot to spot as if she only had a very limited time to take it all in - each title she read spawning more and more ideas to occupy her thoughts.

Suddenly she stopped, when in the edge of her vision she saw Robyn taking a book from off of a shelf and trying to hide it behind her back. When inquiring as to what that book was, the arctic fox struggled to come up with a convincing lie. Viridian came up close, knowing full-well that it must contain some very impressive spells indeed. Robyn's protests to try and convince the feline that it was something far too boring to be worth looking at unsurprisingly had little effect. Still that didn't stop her from trying; she hadn't known Viridian for long, but she knew well enough that this particular tome in her hands could only lead to pandemonium.

I wanted to draw something featuring a relatively new character of mine that I hadn't yet drawn before, Robyn the arctic fox.
