That's just how they styled the shading for SA. I don't think it was supposed to be realistic or anything, just surreal and to make the artwork pop. In the Sonic X art style, I certainly do make sure to base the shading from reality. I do agree though, the way they styled it is a bit unusual. ^^'
Thanks for the input on the design though, I really appreciate it. I made sure to make it look like it would fit within the Sonic The Hedgehog universe. :D-
Well, if someone asks for input, I am glad to give some. I've never seen the Sonic X style before, though, so I can't really provide feedback on that part, but overall it is an excellent piece!

I like the character design, and your execution is excellent! Your shadows seem a little off, but it still looks excellent!
