The Butlers already thought they were in trouble when they realized the Vampyres were starting to pick them off. But they didn't know that their victims are being Turned and Indoctrinated into into their ranks.
Whats worse, most of them are the Butlers Finest & Highest ranked members.

Laskey here is the start of it all. The Witch, Whicker; mistress of Umbra fought and defeated Laskey while trying to escape a Nest Purge. But instead of killing and feeding off of his corpse, she stole his honor and turned him. He tried to go back, but his fellow butlers turned their blades against him as they gazed upon his pale fur and red eyes. Whicker took him in, against Laskey's better judgment; he wanted to live. And with his life, he pledged his allegiance to her.
His many years of excellent service under Whicker's wings showed the benefits of turning a Butler.

As you can see, he is ready to go!
