Floofy Baby (critique requested)

Alex Randomkat

What? A serious upload? Holy crap, he's not dead!

I sketched a little outline of a cat while showing off my tablet to my friend, and I just had to finish the entire thing...
I was going for a baby cheetah at first, but I didn't really get the fur pattern right, so now I don't know what it really is. I'll still tag it as a cheetah though, as I don't really know what else to put.

Also, if you're wondering how I got the time to upload, it's called procrastinating for six hours.

(I totally did not draw the trees way too tiny shhhhhhhhhhh ;-; )

EDIT: Added some shadows for the trees

The details are really well done, especially in the fur! The cat looks so soft. I also admire how you added the texture to the trees, added shading and highlights to all the grass blades, and even texture in the dirt. Texturing is super hard, you're on a good path!

Hmm, for a critique I think I would suggest a few things with the color. Overall, it's mostly made of bright, warm, and saturated colors. The sky is blue, though I feel if you perhaps made more of the shadows a cool color it could help bring more life to it! An easy and fast way to add more cool colors that contrast with warm colors would be to take a soft airbrush, airbrush a purple or blue in the area you want, then either overlay or multiply it (depending on if its shadow or highlights). That gives a very general color sweep. if you wanted to be more specific, I would suggest just making shadow colors slightly more blue or purple.

Anyhow, it looks great! Keep up the wonderful work <3

Thanks for the feedback! I'll be sure to add shading with colors to my bucket-list of new things to try.

This looks great! I love how the grass gets smaller as it goes farther into the distance, it's very realistic. So are the shadows.
