For days he walked, stalking the shadows. Searching in vain to find a suitable dwelling to call home once more. If the last structure hadn't had other inhabitants, it would have suited him nicely. Nonetheless, the noisy inhabitants and the cruel guard drove him to find another home.

After weeks of avoiding detection by the civilized world, he came across a decrepit hospital which was more collapsed than standing. Surrounded by woods, it had been long forgotten, and hadn't seen life besides the feral creatures that lurked inside for decades.
"Perfect. Look at that, Nice... quiet.... still.... dark... perfect." He joyfully trotted up to the collapsed entrance way, pushing rubble out of the walking path. Hours passed as he continued cleaning a living space out in the basement, and as he finished stacking the comforters from the old, broken recovery beds, he heard something fall on the floor above. His ears quickly shot to the direction of the sound, and he quickly, and silently started towards the stairway that lead to the ground floor. "Not already. No. No noisy ones. Not here! Here MINE! Noisy ones will leave, or be quieted!" He grumbled to himself until he reached the doorway atop the stairs, pushing it open slowly to avoid detection. "Where you at?", he growled as the door was pushed further open. Sneaking along the walls, the creature continued looking for the source of the noise he heard moments prior, but found nothing.

Annoyed at the lack of results, and the waste of time that could have been spent setting up his living quarters, he turned around, grumbling under this breath once more. He had almost reached the stairs once more when he heard a click behind him. The creature froze where he stood, and lifted his hands, tapping his giant claws together, making a clicking sound of his own. He looked back, barely turning his head and began a toothy smile as he whispered, "Got you.".
He whipped around, and ran back to the entrance, where the noise originated from. He looked around frantically, searching for the entity that created it, but once again found nothing. "Where ARE you!?", he growled. "Show yourself!".

Completely frantic, the creature starting throwing chunks of rubble across the hallway, searching for the source. He tossed an old desk to the side of the room, and heard it again.
Click
"OH MY GOD WHERE ARE YOU!?"
After continuing his rampage of destruction, the creature sat down on the dirty floor, defeated, still not finding his adversary.
Click, Click
He turned his head and saw a mouse pulling chunks of an old bench's stuffing into it's hole on a shelf up on the wall. Every time the mouse would scurry up the wall, the stuffing caught a light switch, flicking it on or off - resulting in a hollow click.
Unamused by his discovery, the creature looked around at the destruction and mess he had created in the area he had already cleaned. "Damn it. Smart one is tricked by little quiet rodent."
The mouse, seemingly understanding what the defeated creature was saying stood up on the shelf and squeaked, then ran back into its hole once more.
"Shut up. Noisy one now clean up noisy one's mess."
Continuing to grumble to himself, the creature began rummaging through the debris, once more clearing the path to the staircase. Once finished, he laid down on the pile of mattresses he had collected from the surrounding rooms on the floor above and began to doze off.
"This place is just fine... besides clicky rodent... Can deal with clicky rodent... he is quiet rodent... just... clicky..."
