A Sagittarius design update for today! :) For some reason his design felt the least “complete” to me out of all of them, but I couldn’t figure out why for the longest time. I’ve been stewing on this one for a few weeks actually, as I’d been running in circles with the colour changes until I finally settled on this. I’ll probably do a full mock-up of the updates to his weapon too, but here’s a decent enough look at it anyway.

Tweaking the design in the sketch stage was one thing, but adding another colour to this pretty well-established colour scheme was DEFINITELY a risk, especially since I already liked the balance of accent colours from the previous iteration. But I think it paid off in the end, and he feels more finished now. I considered giving him a helmet, but it didn’t really suit him, so I compromised and made his hair resemble one instead, and strengthened the arrow shape language in that area.

I leaned in more on the Scottish vibes I was getting from his clothing and that split-complimentary look really tied it together for me. Admittedly the green does negate his “fire sign” aesthetic a bit, but the elements of the signs have always been tertiary parts of their designs since the beginning, so I’m not too fussed about that.
